Healthy Voice by Meredith Terpeluk

If you are having trouble getting to the place where you can even think about a relationship with God, this would be a good place to start.

You know that voice in your head that you are so used to hearing? The one that thrives on your perfectionism, tells you that you aren’t good enough, compares, obsesses over food and weight? Yeah, this is not that one.

I’m talking about the one that is the closest to the heart of God our Father. It’s gentle, loving, and wants to help you see that you are a child of God.

This is the one I had to find myself one day, after coming out of treatment for food and other addictions because I had hard time separating myself from them. So God gave me this gift of the Healthy Voice to essentially learn to listen for His. Eventually, the more I came to know the Lord, the more it became about Him. But it absolutely helped build the foundation for me to get to Him.

Let me just say this: It is NOT a book about weight. It’s actually about the opposite. It’s about finding how your life can be about way more than the weight.

For context, I wrote this book in 2013, four years into recovery, one year after my Dad passed away. It’s part memoir/part roadmap. Starting with the story of what it was like when food and diets ran my life from childhood into adulthood and what happened that changed it all when I got into recovery. The roadmap part is a guide to help you find your own Healthy Voice.

It has helped many women just like you (and me) find out how God is right there with you.
